Letter from the President
|
Dear members and friends,
Congratulations to all
who worked to convince
the Oakland City Council
that 'JOBS' are critical
to our City and Region!
Completion of the
Airport Connector will
also make Oakland a more
competitive travel
alternative!
Of interest is a recent
'The Oakland Tribune'
poll that reports the
following results:
26% No...I support a
clean-air dedicated-lane
bus connector to replace
Air BART
16% No...because $500
million to BART is too
much money!
51% Yes...I think it's
an example of necessary
transportation
infrastructure!
7% Yes...Because
Oakland's residents need
jobs as soon as
possible!
While only 348 votes
were collected the
outcome was 58% in
favor!
Thank you again for your
support.
God Bless America!

"The Oakland Metropolitan Chamber
of Commerce China trip was by far
the best travel value I have ever
experienced. The opportunity to
experience a culture so different
from our own and learn the history
of China was a wonderful experience
I won't ever forget. Also, traveling
with other Oakland business leaders
made the trip even more enjoyable."

A Membership Testimonial

"I decided to join the Oakland Chamber
to help me expand my business and to
keep in tune with what is happening
locally. Since the time I joined I have
had the opportunity to meet great people

feel like I'm a part of something
bigger, everyone I meet is so helpful
