From the Parade Director...

 Sid the Science Kid
The countdown continues for the 10th Anniversary Parade!  With just a few weeks from the big day and plans are nearly complete.  We are pleased to announce that PBS TV star, Sid the Science Kid will be this year's Children's Grand Marshal.  Sid the Science Kid is a preschool television series produced by The Jim Henson Company in association with KCET Los Angeles.  A total of 35 children's favorite cartoon and storybook characters will join Sid in Oakland on December 5.  It's a star studded show for kids of all ages!  Visit our website for parade updates and a list of participants.

Highlights abound at 10th Annual Parade...

Comcast Float

One of the highlights at this year's Comcast America's Children's Holiday Parade is the Comcast float featuring a Beauty and the Beast theme. Its 55-foot length marks the longest float in parade history, with the Beast fully animated and reaching 17 feet at its highest point.
The above artist rendering is one possible design that is currently being considered by Comcast.

Other highlights include the Tap Dancing Christmas Trees and other live performances, the California Aggie Marching Band from the University of California at Davis and the Pittsburgh High School Pirate Show Band, both of which march 150 members.  Don't miss a minute of the fun- join us!
