Breakfast date change - Breakfast at the Chamber, normally held on the third Thursday of every month, will change for September and instead be held tomorrow, Thursday, Sept. 10, from 7:30 to 9 a.m. RSVP.

Chamber Day with the A's
- Monday, Sept. 21, Oakland Coliseum, first pitch 7:05 p.m., all-you-can-eat dinner and game, $29 per person. RSVP.

"About Town" is the Chamber's newest tool to ensure that you and your employees are connected and up to date with events in and around Oakland. The following events are listed in chronological order.
 
Alameda County Small Business Development Center - "Starting a Business" seminar, integrating several aspects of the entrepreneurial experience necessary to all successful new businesses, Sept. 10, 2 to 5 p.m., Fremont Library, 2400 Stevenson Blvd., free of charge, (510) 208-0411.
 
Oakland Community Economic Leadership Forum - "Oakland Bill of Rights," a plan to stimulate Oakland's economy with residents and businesses, featuring community and business leaders, and elected officials, Sept. 10, 6 to 8 p.m., Lafayette School, 1700 Market St., free of charge, (510) 208-4579.
 
Economic Forecast Conference - All Chamber members are eligible for a 33 percent discount off the price of tickets to the upcoming East Bay Economic Forecast Conference on Thursday, Sept. 17 from 8 to 11 a.m. at the Oakland Marriott City Center. When registering here, simply enter in the discount code omcc09 and get $25 off the regular ticket price. You'll be able to benefit from the new, economic predictions for the region, state and nation from renowned economists Christopher Thornberg and Jon Haveman. New Prescription Drug Discount Card Program - East Bay Community Foundation and Ramsell Public Health are presenting a prescription drug discount card benefit program for nonprofit staff and clients, and employees of small businesses, Sept. 22, 9 to 11 a.m., James Irvine Foundation Conference Center, 353 Frank Ogawa Plaza. This discount drug program can be used by employees of small businesses who do not have a medical plan, or do not have a comprehensive medical plan, and also clients and employees of nonprofits who often have more restricted medical plans or who are uninsured. Info: laguilar@eastbaycf.org or at (510) 208-0845.

Tax Penalty Amnesty Program - Through Oct. 31, businesses with unpaid taxes or under reported gross receipts or those who have not registered with the Revenue Division can benefit from this city program, which provides an opportunity to pay delinquent city taxes without penalties.
